Hi,
I am looking to fitting a dual battery system in my SWB mainly for a fridge.
I see there is a system from Echo 4X4 (R3200) that charges through the cigarette lighter without having to hardwire the vehicle, the other is the National Luna system (R2675) which is hardwired. Both excluding battery.
I use my vehicle everyday for work and would only use the fridge 3 or 4 times a year.
Has anyone made up and installed a system themselves and what advice do you have, pro and cons of the 2 different systems, also these systems are "portable", what type & size battery should you use.
Thanks
Robin H.
I have the National Luna hardwired system and are very happy with it.
I will be wary of a battery charging system that charges through the cigaret lighter as the wires are fairly thin and you don't always have a possitive contact with the fittings
One of the positives of the National Luna is that you can start your car by pressing a button when the main battery is flat
Hope this helps!

I do have a solution for your problem.
I have a Ctek Dual battery system wich is a DIY system and can run off your cigarette plug if it has 6mm wiring fitted. It is a DC to DC charger and charges up to 80% faster than normal dual battery systems

Hi Gertjie,
Do you have some more info on the Ctek Dual Battery System.
