I have a 3.5 V6 vehicle idles fine but when driving the vehicle vibrates excessively can anybody suggest what to look at

does the engine sound fine?
Maybe it's engine mountings.

Could be the cardan shaft too 
If its a manual, could be the clutch / flywheel too....

Is it a mild steering vibration, or total car vibration...
Should it be steering vibration, it could be as simple as checking the wheel balancing...
If not, well... My previous offroader had a vibration on the whole car, and it ended being a bent / unbalanced prop-shaft.
