Hi All
After a successful weekend of wiring up the rear lights to work nicely, I added in the extra park and brake, moved the reverse to the bottom and the indicator to the top.
I was wondering if anyone has ever tired linking the folding mirrors to the alarm. So when you activate the alarm, the mirrors will fold up and visa versa.
From some reading it looks like the button to fold the mirrors sends a single pulse to the motor.
Anyone tried or investigated this?
The Gen4 is like that, so I imagine your plan is quite do able. I just wonder if the mechanism is designed for thousands of fold-aways. I only use the function when I think it is required.
After some reading and research, i cannot find much on anyone having done this on the Pajero.
but for those interested, It looks like you would need to buy a controller module and wire it in.

Doesn't look like rocket science and looks like quite a few in the Honda club seem to like to do this on the preludes.
The only decision you need to make is do you want it when you arm or disarm the car, or when you turn the ignition on or off. This unit can achieve both for you.
My stumbling block till I found this unit was how to stop the mirrors from folding up when you lock the doors while driving, the rest would be easy to wire up. Wire up the pulse wire to the unlock and lock from the actuator on the central locking.
I'll try find a unit closer to home otherwise will get this one brought in and attempt it.
Valid point RoelfleRoux, my only thing is I would rather replace the motor because it wore out then because of selfish people that don't look where they going or couldn't care about your vehicle and push your mirrors in when trying to get past your car. by mistake I pushed too hard on the mirror when cleaning it with polish and the noise it made to get back onto the gear was enough to make me look into this.
Once I have it working I'll post here again

Hi Naviuk,
Just my 5 cents worth....i have also had this "mod" in mind but i would like to retain the manual option as well. Reason being that at times especially in underground parking's, i need to fold them in,in order to get miss the pillar.I have also while driving in the veld needed to fold them back to protect against tree branches.
Once you have done your PJ please post details, for oukes like me to copy-cat.
Thanks
Andre

Yeah I hear you, From the wiring diagram you won;t lose that ability... the manual button is still in tact as you only splice into it. the auto option is triggered by the ignition or central locking. if it does for whatever reason I will make it work, it will just be a wiring change of some sort, I'll post details when i get to that pointVickaa wrote:Hi Naviuk,
