Hi guys, I loaned my paj to a friend and it has developed an issue with the gearbox. There is no drive forwards. I can select drive but nothing happens. I am able to reverse and could go forward if I selected 4LLC.
I changed the oil and filter a year ago and only done about 3000 km since.
I think the valve body might be giving trouble
But really not sure
Any help will be appreciated

As s first try you could consider a full flush and filter clean:

I'm getting a not so nice feeling.........
It happened the 2nd time this morning. First time was last week. Select reverse...doesn't switch...select drive....nothing....select reverse. all good...except the "D" light on the dash doesn't light up, the rest is fine. Had it once before that the "D" light doesn't light up, but that's been more than a year ago and only happened again this morning.
Both times the "D" or "R" didn't work, it was cold (1 or 2'C)Drive is fine, haven't noticed any change in drive behavior or sounds .......starting to worry.
Will see what happens this afternoon....hopefully its just the cold. If this afternoon I have any issues...I need to get to Mitspro asap.

Check transfer case oil level...correctly. I think it must be between the two hot marks......there is two hot marks on the stick.

This person you lent your paj to - is he still a friend?
Do you think it was driven on tar with locked diff or what?
Did you try 4ePikanini or 4ePajero - what happened to 4ePajero's Gen3/2.5? Wasn't it available for parts? Not sure if his box was auto or manual. I know it had an input shaft failure, but you could probably salvage that from your box.

Can you describe the pieces that you found?
In all fairness I would look for another gearbox.
