I have aweird problem with the outside temp reading on my 2002 Di-D Gen 3.

Since I fitted a new radio to replace the stock (not so bright) one, the temp guage started to act up. After switching on the car, the temp read-out comes on, albeit a bit on the slow side, and then after about 10 to 15 minutes, disappear completely. While it shows the temp, the display can also be activated showing the state of the fan and distribution of the air and all the functions that can normally be seen. But. When the temp-read out disappears, all these functions are lost. The RV meter then can only show the compass and the time.

Any ideas where I can start looking for a solution? I have taken out and checked the installation a few times, but cannot find anything.

Wow Gert - I hate these subtle little electronic problems.

Has to be a loose connection somewhere!

Maybe drive till it goes away while the unit is out and then start testing each wire?

I feel your frustration. I also currently have a few nigling irritations that are dificult to trace and sort out.

This thread is almost a year old....but I hope the OP can give some feedback on this problem.....

Car came back from service today.....will remove display tomorrow morning and see if connections are done correctly....if it is, pajero will go back to workshop for them to fix it.

For reference:
Problem: Doesn't display outside temp or ac/ventilation information.
Cure: Reset RV display. Press and hold disp button and turn on ignition untill connecting to system is displayed. Select vehicle model snd calibrate compass. Done.
