Thought I would bring this topic up again.

I damaged my aerial mast but it was not a complete right-off. I managed to straighten it and it retracts.

I have found reception to be good enough with the mast only on the half extended position. Therefore I decided that unlike the advise in this thread, I wanted to be able to switch between retracted and half mast.

I disconnected the GREEN only wire and that did the trick. So in summary:

If you want retracted and full extension, disconnect GREEN with RED trace wire
If you want retracted and half extension, disconnect GREEN wire.
