Wheel spacers good or bad plan?
I was sitting under a tree at Killarney on Sunday starring at the paj and wondered how I can make it look... how can I say... more vris if you know what I mean.

I have seen some mean looking ones on the net and wondered if I fit 40mm wheel spacers, it will improve the look, but would there be any serious cons to doing this? Logic tells me there should be no implications whatsoever... but what do I know :?

Anybody ever played with the idea or have tried it?

Up to 50mm is no problem for the Paj but in my experience the spacers don't do the good ride justice. If you can afford it rather go for an EFS or Toughdog full coil/shock replacement. Contact www.Stofpad4x4.co.za for spacers, excellent product.

Are you referring to suspension spacers or wheel offset spacers?
Point to take cognisance of:
1. Wheel offset spacers affect the ride of the car with independent suspension as the lever arm of the wish-bone effectively get longer, softening the ride. Not much change in ride quality live axle configurations
2. Roll over stability will be increased due to extra track width.
3. It will also put additional strain/pressure on you wheel bearings/hubs as well, possibly wearing them out quicker.
4. You might also have rubbing of the tyres in the wheel arch at max wheel articulation.
5. Stone chips to the side of you car as the wheels will protrude outward past the wheel arch, flinging grit and stones onto the bodywork unless you have big mud flaps.

Two way of doing wheel offset as above, wheel spacers or use a different hub offset wheel or rim.

Re: Wheel spacers good or bad plan?
Was referring to wheel offset spacers. Thanx for the pointers. Seems like it is not a feasible exercise, can get offset mags for the cost of the material and machining. Working on suspension spacers already though.
