I replaced my rear 265-70-15 with velocity 31-10.5-15
sales person said they are the same. my research says they have a larger diameter.
I now notice the 4x4 does not disengage as fast as it always has. in fact I need to reveres before it disengages.
Q. is this due to the new tire?
is it a problem for the drivetrain?
thank you
Hi,
1. Most probably
2. Yes
Centre diff will work hard to compensate for fewer/more revs to back/front when 4x4 engaged. Deff. do NOT use in the locked mode except on very slippery stuff.

I changed the front with the same as the rear. The 4x4 system is working fine.
Thus it makes a difference

That tyre shop should have a chart with tyre size and diameter. That sales person should be cornered and taken to task.
