SRS ECU - error code reset by scanner ONLY.
I thought I would post this here for posterity and save someone else the time & trouble I went through.

Background:
After my injector pump overhaul I had a nagging SRS light that would not switch off, even after exhaustive fault-finding and checking all connections & plugs thrice over...Turns out it was a big plug in the passenger foot-well behind the kickplate - the plug locking cam was not locked properly and my external temp did not work either. Locking the cam solved the temp sender but not the SRS light.

Turns out the SRS ECU can only be reset by a MUTT II scanner - disconnecting the battery does not work as the fault code registers a 'latch' that can only be reset via a plug in computer.
