Roelf, you are so right.

I took mine out for a Kgalagadi trip and left them out for 2 years, stored in one of our spare rooms. Both the wife and I play golf, so this was ideal for 2 sets of golf clubs plus push carts.

The funniest was with the SWB I bought in October last year. I picked it up on the Monday from the dealership and we were heading out to Kgalagadi on the Friday. On Tuesday Safari Centre moved my dual battery system over from the old SWB to the new one and installed the battery fittings in the left rear panel. Wednesday evening (in 10-15 minutes) I removed the rear seats (just like in the old SWB). On the Thursday I heard an odd noise in the car so took it back to the dealership for them to hear. When the Mitsubishi Service Manager got into the vehicle (to hear the noise while driving), he said, "You only got this car on Monday and you have already dismantled it! Have you got no respect for a new car?". So I had to explain about the upcoming Kgalagadi trip and and all the things I had to do before Friday. We had a good laugh.

The KTP trip was great and the ride in the new SWB was much softer on the corrugated park roads than the old 2002 SWB. The 4X4 was easy.

I did put the seats back when we returned, because the wife was moaning about both sets of seats cluttering the spare room.

I just tip them up for the golf clubs now.

On my SWB I removed both second row seats before my recent trip to KTP, what a pleasure. They are still out and I now drive a 2 seater. We use SWAMBO's Ford Ecosport when we need to transport more passengers.
