Reliable Mechanic in EL area
Hi All.

I am in the process of relocating to the East London area. Does anyone have a pointer to a reliable and knowledgable mechanic that knows his way around a Pajero? Your feedback would be much appreciated. I have a 1995 V6 3000 petrol Pajero.

Happy travelling.

I recently rebuilt my 3.0 V6 and I am fairly familiar with them. I can advise and help to make sure your mechanic doesn't take a chance.

Have a pleasant journey down and welcome to East London. Watch out for the circles, they work differently here ;)

Hi Marius.
Thanks for the "howzit" and the offer to do some controlling. Still leaves me with the question of who would you like to be checking up on, or in other words, who is my first stop for a reliable and upright mechanic?

I realise from your many inputs that you are quite knowledgable in the "hands-on" section, but me - I'm pretty useless with a spanner!

I am generally opposed to all workshops. I feel they don't care about my car like I do and end up doing lots of work myself. I have had more bad experiences with workshops than good but that is just me. ;) - finances make my hands dirty as well

Miles Motors ( Speak to Dave ) has a good reputation, and the work he has done for my father has been good and well priced.

Marius - you're a gem! Thanks for the help. I'll drop by @ Miles Motors and have a chat to Dave. Thank you for the input. I don't blame you for your scepticism, but in a manner of speaking, my hands are bound. I enjoyed your website - perhaps our paths will cross soon...

No problem. The key to making those v6 engines last forever is

cambelt intervals
good oil
crank bolt issue
good cooling with genuine thermostat, rad cap and proper cooling fluid mix of anti freeze and distilled water.
