Why 20L of oil? Have you replaced the engine with something from a Leyland scrap yard?
If there is one thing the desert is kind on, it is tyres. Some guys in our group fitted inner tubes, the theory being you can run lower pressure without debeading the tyre. They were repairing pinched tubes every night.
That Shorty will cruise the dunes, so no need to drop down to "desperate" pressures.
If the packing space gets terribly tight, drop the extra spare wheel.
Are shocks covered under the maintenance plan / warranty. I am only on 45 000km and knocks are horrible up front.

It should be covered by the Maintenance Plan. If it is the GLS.

Dont really think so.
Anyways i have a small sidewall cut in my one tyre so i would just feel better with a second spare... Also doing Richtersveld!

Cuts, leaks and wear only ever get worse. I've learned to be sure my tyres are sound, and have 50% tread before I set off for Namibia, invariably Kaokoland and the rough terrain up there. It's surprising how much wear takes place over 7500 - 8500 km of hot rough roads and a laden Paj.
Have you considered a couple of Jerry can brackets mounted at the rear ? I made up a simple 2 can bracket for my 1/2 lenght rack, this fit in nicely with the 31" second spare.
