Hi All,
I have a 2009 SWB DiD. The key casing is coming loose and cracking. The key itself works fine though.
The dealer wants to replace the whole key - quite expensive. Is there anywhere i can get just the plastic casing replaced? I tried a key shop but they only had casings the wrong way round. If you hold my key away from you the lock button is on the right?
I am in Cape Town.
Appreciate any leads.
Regards
Duncan
Check e bay. I know that they had the empty seperate remote "pod" and blank keys for Gen 3.
I am hoping for your sake that they have spare blank keys for Gen4.
Triton uses the same key.

Well I have a 2009 Gen 4 and my son has a Triton and the keys are identical. ie - We have to make sure whose keys are whose!
I got a replacement casing from our local locksmith (Durban North Locksmiths) cost about R450.00. worked like a charm, my lock was also on the right. for the Triton.
Call them maybe they can guide you to someone in CT

I am currently on the Ebay site and the replacement cover is quite simple and inexpensive.
I also need a spare key as I got my Pajero Gen4 without a spare key. Which Mhz key must I get?
Please advise.

The pajero and triton key casing are identical BUT.......
In each casing is a small little rectangular "chip".Its about 5mmx2mm..If you dont swop it over to the new casing the car wont start but just crank and cause a huge vibration on the vehicle.Almost feels like the engine is buggered.Try turning the key without the casing around and you will see what i mean

I now have my spare key sorted and cut and need to re programme the remote door lock and unlock button as well as code the transponder.
Please direct me to where it is documented on this site as I cannot find it anywhere.

I still have a spare key that doesnt work 'cause I cannot find a reasonable service provider in CPT to code it fo me. Spoke to two guys that charge upwards of R1000 to code the key for me. Any CPT owners that can advise me please?
