My inclinometer ran dry and has become damaged due to driving on badly corrugated roads in that condition.
Now i would like to install something that would be more useful, but still looks as if it was meant to be there. I was thinking of some kind of monitor for my DB system.
Any ideas?
I think the most vital ones are oil pressure and coolant loss alarm.
The V6 are not known for oil pressure failures, so I would not rate that as critical.
Coolant loss trip switch can be handled by a buzzer and/or light.
MHO? Find a dual 12V gauge (one reading for each battery), or one 12V gauge with a switch (and diodes) to switch between the two batteries.

That was my thinking Gerhard.
The question is where to find one. I'm not sure if the enclosure would take standard size guages (whatever that might be) and where to source. I've been surfing for a while now and not seen anything. (or at least nothing that doesn't look like it has come out a blinged up Cape Flats golf)
Although I could do this!!!

Simon. Not worth it unless one of them gauges give you current bank balance

VDO (and others) are 50mm dia.SimonB wrote:That was my thinking Gerhard.

It is reasonably easy to manufacture mounting plates for them.
Why not something like this:

No guage in existence goes from positive to negaitive quickly enough.KaiV wrote:Simon. Not worth it unless one of them gauges give you current bank balance
Kai, that link is for a complete pod. I'm not paying R650 for that.

In my book it would be a toss up between the volt meter and a good water temp guage that thing on the dash is about a acurate and sensitive as a warning light. The down side of the temp guage is that it is not a easy to fit the sensors.

What about my installation I am busy with?
Its a Volt Gauge to monitor both batteries (blue LED shows which is monitored and Red LED when Low Voltage Level is reached in addition to Piezzo Buzzer)
