Dual Battery Installation
I am looking for the tray to carry the second battery for my Gen 4 SWB Paj. The stealers want R900 + vat and will order from Japan and Parthunt does not have.

Does anyone have one for sale or know where I can get hold of one? I am based in Durban.

Re: Dual Battery Installation
Subsequent to sending my first mail, it occurred to me that somebody may have made their own tray for the second battery and if they were willing to share the details or pattern, that could also be an option.

A further idea i had was to get another tray for the standard battery, which may be easier to source, and modify that with additional supports - has anyone tried that?

Re: Dual Battery Installation
Hi John,

This is the dual setup that I did - I'll share my experiences on whatever you may need.
I built the tray, and then used a ColeHersee relay with an 85A DC circuit breaker to protect all the take offs except the winch.

PM for contact details etc (I'm in Kloof)

Re: Dual Battery Installation
My and others experience is that getting a big 105 ah battery into the space for the second battery is difficult. It makes it a lot easier to fit the 105ah into the position of the main battery (the battery heat shield will not fit any longer though) and then fit the smaller main battery into the space of the second battery.
Re: Dual Battery Installation
I share with Peterpot. Did exactly that. Did away with the heat shield but used the tray. I had to cut the tray away at the end to get the battery to fit.
Saved myself a lot of PT and bought a Front Runner tray for R 450 from Ironman East Rand. Fitted easily. When the main battery goes I will fit a 90 Ah, should be a snug fit.

Where did you connected the cable that "activate" the solenoid. I see a lot of mention to connect it to the ignition, but how and where?

Using a test light inspect the fuse box for the wiring running the cigarette lighter... After that just T off that wire for your remote.
