Having faith in the pajero and upgrading!
I was about to sell my wifes generation 3 2005 3.0L pajero as am buying her a new car. I was going to get a Hilux 4x4 to get in and out my safari camp and use for my various bush trips. Then after a long drive in the pajero ( something I hadn't done yet as the wife always uses it) I thought why not just keep it and use it for the bush car! Its only done 82000km and is in great shape. So that's where I am at. I want to upgrade the suspension. Am looking at ironman or dobinsons. OME a bit pricey at this stage. Can anyone give pros or cons for either? What can I expect lift wise with these?
Re: Having faith in the pajero and upgrading!
OME or Ironman coils usually give about a 5cm lift over std suspension, but they are harder. Which is good for extra loading, but when driven empty they tend to be a bit bumpy and hard.

CATS
PS by the way I think you made the right choice on bush vehicle.

Re: Having faith in the pajero and upgrading!
At that mileage and that model, what you have is a gem. I had a swb Gen3 and upgraded to a Gen4. As a demo model, the dealer put an ARB on plus OME suspension. Now I like my comfort which is why I never changed my Gen3 (I was scheptical) but driving the Gen4 with OME I, cannot say it is uncomfortable. Whatsmore on TITD's Barberton the youngsters were in a Triton 3.2DID DC and they were at the back of the pack and were battling to keep up as they said it was uncomfortable to go any faster. The question was raised "just how uncomfortable were you two old ducks in the SWB then" - and we were not at all - and my wife will be the first to moan - she's not big on the 4x4 stuff / thing. She also drives it to work and back daily.
