Hi all,
I'd like to change the oil in my rear diff. How easy is this to do for a Google mechanic?
Anyone have a workshop manual I can look at? The one on this site explains how to do it but no detailed diagram of the diff so I can't find the components it mentions.
Thanks,
Tyrone
Should be super easy.
Ussualy all it entails on most vehicles is park on level surface, drain from bottom plug(might need special tool to loosen) untill nothing comes out, refit plug, remove filling plug on side/top, fill till it starts to overflow, refit filler plug. All done.
Most importantly is to get the exact correct oil for your specific diff! Might be worth it to buy from Mitsu themselve with your vin number so they can make sure they give you the correct one.

I like to suggest to remove the fill-in plug first before emptying the diff, so you don't end up with an empty diff that you can't add oil to if the fill-in plug is stuck for any reason.
