Pretty interesting surroundings. I live on the Indian Ocean side of the UAE (opposite side to Dubai and Abu Dhabi) which is mostly rugged mountains and wadis (gulleys), however the desert is never far away. Temperatures are on the increase at the moment hitting a peak of over 50 degrees in August/September with humidity in the 90% range, so it's not fun to be out in summer - especially in the desert when the sand becomes like talc and very difficult to drive on (even more difficult to dig yourself out of at these temps :D )
