Hi All
I've had my car back for a bit now and I'm very happy with the result. It took a little bit longer for them to do the work as they felt a bit of an imbalance on the replacement flywheel and sent it back for re-balancing. Happy for them to take more time and do a proper job.
Amazingly, the clutch coming out with 224k+ km on the clock and never changed before looked fine. Plenty of friction material left and all the grooves still visible. There were some spots on the pressure plate though and the dual-mass flywheel felt as though it had unnecessary play which probably accounted for the shudder. But the clutch, still in perfect shape.
Anyway, the new kit is in, clutch feels soft and smooth and very little difference to a new dual mass combo as installed by the dealer (another Pajero in the family serves as reference). Only possible vibration I can feel is when you're in 3rd gear + and gear down with RPM's dropping to to below 1600rpm'ish, then it feels like there's a bit of a vibration (carried from the engine) until you get closer to 2000rpm. The DMF may have absorbed some of that before but I'm okay with that as I feel it's actually a wrong shift and I should change down when the revs are a bit higher.
As for the 2.8 flywheel in a 3.2 debate, I believe that's been concluded. Yes, you can fit a 2.8 flywheel on a 3.2 if you want, but the 3.2 flywheel is substantially thicker than the 2.8 and the Gen3 bell-housing is built for the thicker flywheel. Putting in a 2.8 flywheel will require modifications to the thrust bearing arrangement.
Thumbs up my side for Mitspro. Would have been nice if that milled flywheel was a bit cheaper, but of the R13.8k for the job, only a fraction of that was their labour cost.

Is Mitspro service still highly recommended? I need a 120,000km service and was thinking of using them.
Thanks for any feedback.

Hi Harts
I can definitely still recommend Mitspro. My 2006 3.2 DiD went for its 315,000kms service last week. They did a full check on the entire vehicle, did the standard oil service, replaced my water pump (according to Freek jnr they develop micro fractures which in turn can cause serious problems , so they replace it as a preventative measure if you have high mileage) and they replaced the front and rear axle- and transfer case oils. Big service, cost me R4900 after they quoted me about R5800. No complaints here!

Hi, I believe these guys know their Mitsubishi and have the potential to grow big. Unfortunately on trying them yesterday i received a horrible treatment which am still asking myself what really happened as I had to take in a ton of insults and shouting....but is ok life goes on. I chose to be a strong boy like my pajero.....
That is hectic... sorry to hear!Tshilidzi Tshimange wrote:Hi, I believe these guys know their Mitsubishi and have the potential to grow big. A few years have passed since the last reply, and I would like to know if MitsubishiPro are still a good option. I’m in the process of pursuing a PS purchase from a dealership who will use them to do 101 point check. So I need to rely on a thorough and reliable report. The forums say the best option would be to engage with Arnold from MitsiTech but there is a 3 week waiting list!
