Compass performance in 2019 Pajero
I have found the compass in my 2019 Pajero to give intermittent performance. If I calibrate it conscientiously by selecting an open area away from metal interference, it can work well (generally by driving slowly in a tight circle twice)...for a while. Then it crashes and points S or SW regardless of the vehicle direction. Sometimes, when I leave it for days or even weeks it can re-find itself otherwise I have to recalibrate. is this typical behaviour or is my compass faulty? I can understand when driving in built up areas or amongst heavy traffic it will give spurious readings, but does it have to crash every time? I would appreciate comments from other owners.
Re: Compass performance in 2019 Pajero
Given the magnificent vehicle that the Pajero is, the compass really is a piece of crap and remains useless.

I ignore mine and rather use my GPS.

It is a shame though.

If you have bucks to splurge, upgrade the whole radio unit to an Android system. Costs about R8k.

Cheers
