After my first Pajero (3.5V6 LWB) was killed by a 32ton truck, I am looking at buying another one - I was impressed by the car. This time it is a 2005 3.2D LWB with 110,000km and some nicks, chips and minor dents - the roof also has a large-ish dent in it. The price is R200,000. I don't doubt the build quality or reliability of Mitsubishi's and I am pretty happy with the 3.2D engine's performance.
This does seem like a good price to me, but would like your input on this.
Deal or no deal?
Hi..sorry for your loss of your last girl..
hope everyone was ok..(well except the car I take it)
what about the AA test to check out all the stuff, it does cost but worth it..thats what Mitsubishi workshop manager advised myself..then you can go from there...also what others 2005 's going for at that milage..
good luck

Macjohn,
You don't think that "some nicks, chips and minor dents - the roof also has a large-ish dent in it" is an indication of a Pajero that lived with somebody that didn't care enough?

The chips seem a tad high for a 5 year old car, although not excessive. I had the dealer put it on a lift and had a look underneath - not even one dent or stone marking on the belly pans and/or chassis, this car never did any real 4x4'ing. I called the owner yesterday and he did not even know about the dent on the roof - me thinks it happened at the dealers. The interior is 99% spotless, it looks like a new one. The car is on it's way to SAC for an engine check up, thereafter I will sign the papers.
So overall I think the car was well looked after
Great,
A good inspection with a car on a lift is like gold. I'm glad to hear that it passed with flying colours.
I hope the final hurdles are also passed and that you will soon have a nice car in your garage again.

Roelf, I only now see that you are from Barbs - that is where the car is from, the previous owner stays there. Maybe you know the car?RoelfleRoux wrote:Great,

You have PM.RoelfleRoux wrote:MacJohn,
Maybe, give me some details!
MacJohn,
I replied to your PM, but I think it is stuck in the outbox.
Bottom line is I know the previous owner very well. He actually bought that car new on my advice. I'm pretty sure the car did not receive any bad treatment and I'm also pretty sure that it never had any problems either.
If it was me, I would happily buy that car.
Good luck
