ABS Warning(?) Light
Not sure if I am in the right forum - Drivetrain, or Suspension, Steering and Brakes :?: since the issue is brake-related but happens when shifting gears.

As soon as I go back to 4H or 2H from 4HLc or 4LLc the ABS warning(?) light comes on. I suppose that I should test to see if ABS is working before or after, but I am not sure how to test this. My Pajero is a 1998 3.5V6 Gen 2.

Irritatingly I did not get an Owner's Manual when I bought the vehicle  . Any suggestions?

Re: ABS Warning(?) Light
Easy to test ABS. Get on a bit of dirt, drive at 20km/h, hit the brakes. If the wheels slide all over the place ABS isn't working. If the brake pedal kicks back against your right foot and the car feels as if it will never stop, then ABS is working. I recall my 1998 3.5 had a really "bad" noise coming from the brake booster area, when the ABS kicked in.
