Any vehicle!
Post up your trip computer showing your average consumption and then tell us in what vehicle, engine and distance covered as well as driving conditions ( off road, highway etc )
I'm sure it would be interesting to note different consumption values.
posting up funnies like the highest you can get instantaneous will be entertaining as well.

No trip computer - no pics...what is the value for this forum, if I post a pic from the BMW's trip computer (2.0 diesel engine) showing 5.4 L/100 km on the way to Durban while running on cruise control at exactly 100 km/h on the tarred highway....none of the Pajeros will be able to beat this low consumption - neither any Touareg4ePikanini wrote:Post up your trip computer showing your average consumption and then tell us in what vehicle, engine and distance covered as well as driving conditions ( off road, highway etc )....

Fair enough, the dig at a Touareg.MR2-Blue wrote: No trip computer - no pics...what is the value for this forum, if I post a pic from the BMW's trip computer (2.0 diesel engine) showing 5.4 L/100 km on the way to Durban while running on cruise control at exactly 100 km/h on the tarred highway....none of the Pajeros will be able to beat this low consumption - neither any Touareg

Comparing a small 4-seater sedan to a SUV sure makes a lot of sense!
What value has that for this forum?
Comparing 4x4s, on the other hand, makes alot of sense, IMHO.
I am amased at the consumption some people claim for their 4x4s!
it's not for comparison it is just a fun thread - try and post the highest value you can get.
Personally I'd like to see what screens the different cars have as well.

The screen was in shadow. Good thing because the reading was 22l/100km and avg speed of 13km/h.

My car's computer screen only shows time, temps, date and radio stations. I have pushed every button I could and more, but it seems as if it does not have a trip computer or a compass. Surely it should have one, or am I lekker dof?
A little (lot) off subject ...
I've always wondered why someone like Standard Bank don't publish the national average consumption for all the cars on their fleet card system. As an example, the national average for a 1999 Colt Rodeo 4x4 V6 Auto is 15.82l/100km. Now there is a number no-one can argue with. It is based on actual usage by a large number of driver in a wide range of applications (typical for the type of vehicle) ...
Why don't we start our own little database ... if everybody on a fleet card submit the national average for their particular make and model we'll have a very comprehensive picture in no time ....
