So I'm replacing both upper wishbones, the front shock absorbers and the left hand side cv joint boots. Can't really say I'm enjoying it too much, would rather be upgrading the truck, but it needs to be done.
The right hand side is already done, did the wishbone on that side and the shock absorbers before this years vacation. Ran into problems removing the locking "pin" from the ball joint nut, but eventually got it out.
Now it's due for inspection, so I need to finish the left hand side. Already removed the axle but it was a bitch of a job. Nothing came loose, broke the 24mm top and had to go buy a new one. Then the lower ball joint refused to come apart. Spent 12 hours on it and the only thing that's finished is replacing the broken headlight.
Oh well, at least it's all apart (well, mostly). Now I just have the cleaning, grease packing and reassembly to do. Oh, and bleeding the brakes, since you have to loosen a brake pipe to replace the wishbones.
