Gen2.5 Spotlight Bracket Mounts
I'm looking for ways to mount spotlights on a gen2.5 bumper in the absence of a bullbar or nudgebar.

I haven't seen the "new" Gen2.5 bumper that macjohnw is sending me, but if it's the same I was thinking of using the upper bullbar mounting holes, but this means the spots will stick quite proud of the front bumper. Any ideas?

Try fit it on brackets fitted to body under grille. I see some possible mounting points, but they may be too flimsy...

The 2.5 bumper does not have standard holes for spots, but I guess you can drill. I wouldn't drill.

There is nothing on the bodywork to which the spots can be mounted, and I agree, no drilling This is partly why my current setup doesn't work - it was drilled and is too flimsy.. and has rusted

Drill through the flimsy bumper, but fit a supporting bracket on the inside of the bumper, which is connected to the chassis mounting points.

Since you live at the coast, have it galvanised. ;)

Probably the best in the absence of a nudge- or bullbar. A flimsy mounting will cause the spots to vibrate which is hard on everyone's eyes.

Always a good idea. We live in the rust factory!

I have a set of Warn spots on my standard bumper in drilled holes. If you need to galvanize, Simon, you know who to call.

The bumper is on it's way. The nudge bar brackets are still on the bumper and seem sturdy, but they might protrude a bit as you say.

Nico / Simon,

Where in W/Cape can I have a small galvanising job done at a reasonable price?

I have made up brackets to move the spots slightly backwards on my Bullbar, but need them protected against rust.
