This was another project I did on my 1988 SWB.. One benefit I found immediately, was that 23 years of accumulated stench disappeared instantly... and now I don't have to worry about cigarette ash or spills.

First.. Rip out all the carpet.. which will involve removing all the seats too.. here are a few pictures of that..

Welcome and thanks for all the illustrations. I for one love to see what guys do with their trucks, and I enjoy it when one take bold steps - like ripping out the carpets! You just KNOW there is no way back - the job MUST be completed. Then there is the joy to see (and smell) the finished work - a real improvement.

Always great to see one passionately improving his truck.

Impressive work. Haave you repaired the rust? How do you ensure that the bodywork under the new material stays dry? Isn't there a risk of dampness &rust?

The little one seems impressed with dad's big truck!

That is actually my most trusted friend Brian... I started the project but immediately knew I was hopeless at that kind of thing... so Brian took over and did 99 percent of the work.
