I am trying to find a very irretating rattle somewhere in the vicinity of the CD shuttle. When tapping against the console box the rattle is triggered. I am now trying to remove the console box to try and see what causes this noise. My problem is I do not know how to remove the automatic gear selecter lever so the console can come off. It does not screw off like the short lever does. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Willie,
The gear lever has 2 small screws, one on the left and the other on the rear side of the lever. As I said , they are small, so be carefull when screwing out
Before you do that you have to to put the lever in neutral so the cover can be removed; you cannot get the lever out of park after you have removed the srews

Slide bottom section of Auto Lever to reveal two screws

Easy once you know how!
