Hi again,
I'm also looking at replacing the entire exaust system from just after the manifold.
I have been told that on my type of engine, a bigger pipe will actually improve my engine & fuel economy,
The guy that will do the job, states that you cant actually improve fuel economy this way at all,
Any insights on this,
also, advice on
stainless steel vs mild steel?
and 2 boxes vs 3 boxes?
Thanks
Ned
you will gain sound and high end power but sometimes loose low to mid rpm torque.
OK, so that means for off road climbing etc, that would be a no-go,
What about fuel consumption.
What about fuel consumption.
Someone once told me that the best way to save fuel is to drive less, plan trips and do 2-3 things at once while you are driving. Or to alter your driving style - as little braking as possible and no rapid acceleration will greatly improve your consumption. I can get 8l/100km with my passat if I really concentrate on driving economically whereas I can also get 16l/100km if I drive like a spirited youngsterMcnoogle wrote:OK, so that means for off road climbing etc, that would be a no-go,

the other alternative is to get a diesel

You've seriously got me thinking about the Diesel,
But I'll have to wait on that, as in my Estimate, I'll be about 100K out of pocket, after I / if I manage to sell this one.
Bit definately starting to think long and hard about it.
Maybe I'll just keep this one, and STILL buy a diesel
as I seriously love the look of a gen 2.
