Hi All
I have three questions:
1. I would like to have a nudge bar fitted to my 2006 Gen3 3.2 DiD LWB GLX. The Mitsu agents quoted me almost R8000. I was thinking of fitted an after market (non-original) nudge bar as it would be a lot cheaper, but I'm concerned that this might interfere with the workings of the airbags in an accident. Is this a valid concern?
2. My Paj gave me about 9km/l in city traffic on the first full tank. I've had it for about 2 months now and have covered about 3000km with it. Now I only get about 6.5 to 7km/l in city traffic. My driving habits have not changed and I have removed the roof rack. The strange thing is that I still get very good fuel consumption on the open road, about 10.4km/l at about 135-140km/h. Why has my urban fuel consumption increased. The vehicle is due for its 90000km service next week.
3. Is the 90k km service a major one? Will the agents inspect the cambelt and tensioners, or should I ask them specifically to do this? Same goes for the pollen filtter?? Those of you who have done your services at the Mitsu agents, how much do you think should I budget for this service? Do you think if I ask them they'll replace the engine oil with synthetic oil?
Thanks for all the help and this great forum!

Hi Superaireborne,
Welcome to the Forum,
I am probably one of the most least technical guys on this forum, but I think I can help you with a simple reply on the 1st question, :that is, yes, it is a valid question, and there are enough aftermarket bull-bar/nudge bar manufacturers out there that take your airbags into account.
If you shop around a bit, and ask them about it, you will be able to find what your looking for there.
I hope this helps.
Regards
Ned

Super,
Ask the dealer for a quote (cost estimate) for that service as well as the items you wonder about.
The DiD doesn't have a cam belt. It is equipped with a chain, which is not a service item. The advice on this forum is to have the chain and guide/tensioner checked at about 150k km.
Hope this helps,
Roelf

Hmmm, regarding the aftermarket bullbar / nudgebar interfering with your airbag, my answer is no.... Might have my facts wrong, but the main airbag sensors are not mounted in the front of your vehicle, but under your seat....
