Hi Guys, Excuse my ignorance. What is a GME? I mean I can see its a radio, but is it long distance? how far? who do you communicate with? what kind of arieal is needed? are they expensive? maybe you can direct me to a thread with more information?

The GME GX300 is a 29Mhz radio which requires a licence to operate. Range depends on various factors but can be as far as 15km. Needs a dedicated external antennae, properly tuned.

In my mind, a radio is an essential piece of kit for any travels which you do with other vehicles, and especially on trails. And this from someone who initially thought them a pointless luxury.
