I have been reviewing the Pajero springs and as per Dobinsons which appear to be highly rated by the Aussies, the springs do not appear to be tapered or progressive, and the guys from van Zyls share the same view.

I saw the post around the EFS coils being hard, is this a result of a progressive coil, or was that a linear coil?

Please can you provide your review from your perspective.

Its quite a read, and a lot of it too technical for me. I read it over a few days, so I hope I get the most important bits:

Maybe Gerrit can help out, since he is one of the original authors...

• A good way to lift the car is through using spacers - but not many make these spacers for the pajero (if any)
• Spacers will however mean that you will need new shocks, since the spacers cause the shocks to extend beyond the range they were designed for
• There are not many shocks that extend further than the standard shocks, and those that do are difficult to find in SA
• The opinion seems to be OM > IM, especially on road (read the last page of the thread - Cats' experience), however IM seem to be much better value for money

My remaining Q's are, how does EFS (if you get the shocks and coils) compare to IM or OME (ride height increase and on-road comfort/vibrations)? anyone had experience with them?

Thanks for your feedback, I am changing my possibilities here to consider a spacer kit, I am happy with the curent ride and don't want it to be hard at all. I have read on an aussie forum that the front coil spacers for the 80 Series fits perfectly for the Pajero rear coils without any modifications and this is around 70 Aussie dollars for a pair, excluding shipment and duties, and then just the front, will see what can be used there, it appears some shocks come with an adjustment already which can raise the front, I am just looking for a small lift (at least 20mm, mx 40mm) both front and back and have to replace shocks as I have a leaking shock up front.

I am busy with a excel sheet with 12 options, will publish once I have all the details and all the research complete. So far considering KYB (OE as I understand) and spacers with air helpers in the rear for overlanding.

If you've got spacers for the back, you can solve the rest of the problem by using Gabriel Safari HDP shock. The front struts are adjustable, so you can get the required lift that way.

Has anybody installed the Gabriel HDP shocks on a Gen3 yet?

I found on an aussie post that the Crusuer 80 series front spacers fit on the Pajero rear, see here which seem like they would be easier to source and not expensive which could make the whole issue alot easier and cheaper:

Here is an example of the Landcruiser 80 Series spacers (which as per a previous aussie post the front spacer can be used on the rear of the Paj Gen3), what are the thoughts on this? It is only USD20 for such a spacer, excluding shipping and import, but it is 30mm, what will the resultant lift be?
