I bet you one POCSA club sticker that the noise is from that Ironman shocks up front!!! I am talking personal experience here(search my posts somewhere I did a write up). Get other shocks, even old worn ones and fit them on the front. It seems that in some Pajeros the IM shocks just does not work and make this funny knocking noise. FACT

Cats, would that be internal noise from the shocks, I sort of also had that feeling. Anyone else using IM shocks at the moment?

I dont know if it was internal or if they just catch somewhere on the sides but on my Pajero they were extremely clunky and could not be fixed. I still have the IM coils in, but the shocks did not work out. There are however some people that run them on gen3 Pajero's without complaint. Maybe it is shock batch driven or even vehicle batch driven but on my 2001 manual Pajero I could not get the IM shocks to stay quiet for longer than say 3000km after fitment. They(Ironman through Autoquip) tried their best and put new ones in under warranty but in the end just gave in and basically gave my money back. Excellent back up service but the specific product and my 2001 3.2 Did Manual LWB Pajero did not work together.

Hi
See if it happens if you drive with a foot very slightly on the brakes for a short distance. On my 2001 did it was the brakes that made a big ratling/clatter sound. I could hear it was coming from the front wheel area when driving with my head out the window Ace ventura style.
My Indie coated something on the callipers with silicon, but it did not last very long and was back within a month or so.
Maybe can help to try and eliminate the culprit. I also had ironman shocks, so that may have contributed to the noise. I could only hear the shocks when going over speed bumps etc, not the whole time.
Regards
Bennie

Cats, what make of shock are you currently running with the IM coils. Will speak to IM today regarding the shocks. Will give the foot on brake pedal treatment a go. Need to sort this out soon! Was getting used to it but replaced the Dueler 694's with Coopers and what a breeze, drives like platkar so quiet, now all the other noises, especially the shocks, can be heard again!

Currently running Gabriel HDP shocks but had Old Man Emu paired with them for a while as well.
