Thanks Karl, on some of the Gen3 there is an issue with a companion shaft clip, which results in the shaft pulling out and the diff leaking oil, which can cause expensive damage, there is a fix and happens to both std and lifted suspensions, apperas tp happen at an ave mileage or when towing from whaat I have read. Lots of aussies increase by 50mm with dobinson and bilstein. I am watching for issues as indicated by Greg. Also need to take into account the wheel alignment. So need to ask who has issues with lifted suspension, wheel alignment as well as tread wear due to incorrect alignment.
Pls can you post the cost from Lynx when you get this.
So far 40mm lift seems the safest, as suggested by Greg as well.
Stofpad front spacers will cost R950 per pair, waiting for cost of rear spacers and then I am placing order if price is good. Karl I am unsure abot the measurements, but still keen on the 50mm effective lift. The Aussie guys are doing between 50 and 70mm with the dobinson or king coils, still not found any issues, but still looking fot drivetrain and joint issues at 50mm effective increase.
I've been following this thread and the others regarding spaces (here and on the other forum). One thing that I pick up is that many people have the same problem I have, the suspension has sagged over the years.
It sounds like most guys want to go the spacer route, but has anyone actually fitted Van Zyl springs? I'd like to know how much harder the ride is with them. How do they compare to OME/EFS?

Hi Pierre,
Don't know anybody with van Zyls (not yet at least) on a Pajero. On the topic of height gains on suspension, the aussies are going big on this one with between 50 and 70mm increases see this link to a nice looking Paj with Lovells and massive height gain http://www2.pajeroclub.com.au/forum/sho ... hp?t=19721
I want height.....ummm I need height....
Haven't had a chance yet to get to Mikem for rear spacer measurements and some more in depth discussion on height consequences (spacer and springs), this year has just started off way too hectic. No reason why not to go spacer IMHO or in fact spring, horses for corses I guess

I took the leap, went to Van Zyl's and fitted the springs. The hight gain was only in the rear... I gained 40mm, but only 10mm in front. The rear coils are much harder than the standard ride. A disapointment was the front coils...after my second return trip, due to excessive sagging, I decided to have the original coils re-fitted in front.
I did more research and found a small company - AA Offrad, who took the measurements of my car and supplied me with spacers - resulting in an approximate 50mm lift. I had this done a week ago, and am still testing the stability and handling. So far so good.
I would not advise anyone to go the Van Zyl route....

Hi Willie,
Thanks for posting your results, have you got any pics on the before and after, and some costing on the spacers that were made by AA Offroad. Do you have any pics of these spacers either and what material they were made from?
Thanks a mil

Well I phoned him... Is about 600 something for front and 150 for rear.
But said that you need new coils to get lift at the back.
Maybe i dont understand how these things work...

Hi All,
I will take some pics over the weekend and post on Monday. Here is the website for AA Offraod. http://www.aaoffroad.co.za/products.html
They specialize in Nissan, but offered to help as the spacer on the Pajero is rather simple. The design is much the same as the pictures posted on their site.
I fitted the spacers and four Bilstein shocks, and this came to a total of just over 12k. I know this is expensive, but made up my mind when I saw the effort going into the measurements of my car. All aspects was evaluated and informed decisions were made. Unlike other fitment centres, these guys are small and still building a reputation. I was informed of all the technical data and explanations was given to me all the way. I could see that these guys know what they were talking about.
Yes, the service is not the fastest in the world, and I had to wait my turn, but attention to detail and the care these guys show while working on my car was impressive.
