Why?
It will take some effort to convince me that the GM V-6 is a better engine than the Mitsu 3.8 V-6. Cheaper maybe, but better?
(I say this based on my experience with the GM 4.3 V-6).
The cost of such a conversion will also most probably exceed the repair/purchase of a Mitsu 3.8 V-6.
The length of the TH700 plus a Mitsu transfer case will leave very little space (length) for a prop shaft, even on a LWB model.
On a SWB J-Top, are you not going to run into propshaft / UJ angle 'difficulties' ?

From my investigations I can't see the point in fitting the Commodore Engine. The Mitsi 3.8 will fit with less mechanical modifications. As far as the electrics go, the work would probably be the same but the parts are standard Mitsi.
Fitting the Commodore engine is a hotch potch of parts.
Imagine trying to source parts in a few years time if you can't remember what was used or if your the new owner of such a vehicle.

Also the "kit" was designed to swap the 4cyl Gen1 not the Gen2.
