The story of Casper 3.2Didc GLS LWB 2009

This is the story of Casper, my "new" 2009 3.2 Didc GLS Lwb(BK or gen4 or NS model description depending on where you live) which I upgraded to as my new tourer and weekend vehicle. Casper has 121000kms on when I got him and boast a full service history.

I have been owning Mitsu's over the years, this will be my 5th, and every now again I have trotted over to some dark side to taste their offerings, but have always returned.

So. Back to Casper. My old tourer has been owned since it had 80000kms on and I bought Snoopy in, I think, 2003. It is a 2001 LWB Pajero(CK or gen3 or NM model) and has served me well over the years with only some injector/diesel pump issues in the last year or so. Over the years I have added many an accessory to Snoopy to cater for my specific use. The idea is to transfer as much as possible of these to the new tourer and the first part of this build will basically be a transfer attempt of as much as possible from a Gen3 Pajero to a Gen4 Pajero.

Casper is a bit of a blank canvas as it basically came without any aftermarket items excpet for the nudge bar and an official Mitsubishi towbar which looks like bodypart from a well endowed donkey

Here is a pic of Casper swapping out war stories with old Snoopy. Can you see the worried look in the younster's face? :o

I will update this thread as I go along with firstly the transfer and then the further custom build of Casper.

Als loop baie mooi maar hy het steeds warm geloop as ek sleep teen opdraendes, so ek het opgegee en hom toe verkoop met full disclosure teen bargain prys.

OK.

So far I have transfered the roofrack, aux tank,

coils and shocks

rear packing system

takla mats

double battery system, air compressor and some lights to Casper.

Pics to follow in detail of the last few, but today I hooked up the Xplorer to see how it sits with the lower towbar that came fitted to Casper. It is OK, BUT I am gonna get someone to lift it for me to get the van more level.

Hi CATS

Looking good, cant wait to see with the ARB bumper fitted. I am sure you just need to have inserts made up for the gap under the headlights, keep posting pics!

As Casper is still an old spec gen4 with the normal Rockford Fosgate head unit it had no aux input plug although it does have aux facility (keep cd button pressed a bit longer and it changes to AUX). I followed instructions found on this forum to connect a aux plug. Installation cost was R175 and took about 30min which included a cup of coffee. I provided my own aux cable. Great sound now possible from any device with earphone plug!!

I am a happy chappy
