Thanks Simon
Project almost completed; still need to do the carpeting and fit handles and locks. By the way, what type of locks did you use; having a battle finding something suitable?
I left the areas either side of the drawer open so as to utilise the space to pack other stuff (recovery equipment?).
How did you connect your electrics? When one removes the drawer system there must be a way to disconnect from the secondary battery wiring; did you install a junction box? If so, where?
Going to try to upload some photo's. Hope it works!
George
It is a good storage of your fridge because it is well-protected. It prevents your fridge from scratches while you are traveling. That would be a great job.
Simon, looks great, can you email me the pictures that you posted, I want to try this one myself.

One of my favorite threads. Both systems look great, well built, practical and well thought through. I'm sure that I speak for everyone when I say that all the pictures, drawings and explanation you feel like sharing are much appreciated.
In my case I would probably do away with the fridge entirely, Iceland being a lot colder than SA. A simple icebox is enough for my needs. One thing that I have seen in some DIY packing systems is that the height has been determined from the height of the folded down middle seats, in order to be able to create a bed in the back. With the packing system in place you obviously aren't going to be folding down the jump seats and middle seats to create the bed in the back as you usually can. Did either of you consider this during the design? I realize that with the fridge in place you'd only have space for one person to sleep there, but even that might occasionally be helpful. Up here finding a suitable camping spot for a tent is sometimes tedious, but you can always park somewhere level.
