Hello
Have nto had time to fit mine either, been away.
Are the possible results the same on the Gen 3 and 4? Surely that cant be the stop against another bolt. Many many Pajero has been lifted like this. Uys says he has sold many kits.
Anyway have to wait a bit before fitting, as we only have one car at the moment.

Here is a picture of mine from underneath on my gen 3 after 2000km traveling. As you can see it does not seem to have touched this bolt at al during that time. Don't mind the oil in these pictures. Refer to next post for that.Gemaskerde Tuinvurk wrote:Went to Mikem to get my spacers fitted. The following came up:
Normally, the droop stop is caused by the shock extending to its max. Now, after fitting the spacer, it seems the control arm hits this bush/bolt thingy (on the cross member).
Looking at it, I can see that its never made contact with that in the past (what you see is just settled dust/mud)
Those of you who've had your spacers install - does the control arm now hit against this?
Also, this means that the shock must be forced in - which is possible to do. But how do you get the shock out?? Is it possible to do without breaking the bolt that holds the shock?

OK
So here is the bad news! But first: REMEMBER I have longer coils already fitted PLUS the spacers lifting my vehicle about 10 cm from std. Furthermore the mileage is at 267000km! Normal coils with the spacers should not lift more than say Iron man or Old Man Emu coils and thus would not lead to the extreme angles that I currently have.
After 2000km of having the spacers fitted(note above additional info
) both the front inner cv boots, which looked a bit under strain from day one and not happy to travel at a new angle after 267000km, have split open
. It is going in tommorow for new boots and a proper look at the angles again. As stated before by me, I am happy to replace the old rubbers if this is the only problem and it does not lead to other issues. On the Ausie forum it was noted that split cv boots about 2000km after a lift on older vehicles is common, so I was half expecting this, but hoped for the best.

Eish, that sucks, is my very next item I am going to order after coming back from Kgalagadi, I see Uys is responding back on 4x4 community site. Has anybody done some offroading (rougher stuff with the lift, Nismo, you looked like a regualr trail blazer with your Paj, have you done any offroading since yours has been fitted, would be nice to get some feedback here on this one.
Thanks
David
Thanks

I'm also waiting to see this - the control arm wont touch the bolt if the car's weight is on it.Davidvan wrote:Has anybody done some offroading (rougher stuff with the lift)
I see Uys's question on the 4x4community forum - will let Darrell respond... but my understanding is that the difference between longer coils and fitting a spacer is:
for a strut configuration, when fitting a spacer at the top, you move both the coil and the shock down - hence the problem now where the shock does not cause the droop stop, but a bolt on the underside of the car. with a longer coil, the shock is still attached at the same place, meaning it still acts as the droop stop - you just reach it quicker.
I have been to a few places after the spaces have been fitted.
I didn't have any issues so far, on gravel it handles the same, 4x4 tracks seems to be the same except I don't touch the sliders so often anymore. Overall I'm very happy with the spacers.
