This is what I have on Autodata - don't take it as fact as I have found errors on the program before.

So all the oil in the diffs and gearbox where drained and filled, apart form the transfer case(idiot before completely screwed up the fill bolt).
The crap that came out of these where really bad!! Thank goodness for that little magnet on the bolt!!!
Now I have a new problem. I have a heavier gear change than before and my third gear scratches. what could this be be??
I have no leaks that I can notice or see.

What oil exactly did you put into the gearbox?

You could perhaps try Caltex Easyshift, which is well known to improve shift quality, or Castrol BOT 130 M, which is a synthetic. When I changed the Patrol's gearbox oil to BOT 130 M, I experienced an improvement in shift quality that was almost miraculous.

Hi Gerrit
Would this work in the transfer case as well??
I'm getting a new bolt next week and am going to drain it too.

No, the gearbox oil is a GL-4 oil, while the transfer box uses the same GL-5 oil as the axles, if I remember correctly.
