I have heard of a case of the front diff, right CV inner bearing failing on the Pajero, but definitely not a regular occurrence. The side shaft/CV's on the Pajeros are really very, very tough amd well made. Keep the CV boots in good condition and they will outlast the vehicle in most cases.

the front right inner shaft bearing can fail causing noise and vibration.
The CV joints or diff will break before the shaft twists off.
