You are a great help, as the part no. they gave me over the phone at Top Class is not the same as you gave me now. I will contact them again when I have a chance, and will also contact Bearing International with both part no. I have now.

@ Mr Gibson, I have tried Masterparts before and they gave me a quote of about R250 per side, wich tells me that it is the bearing for blister fender maybe. I will try them with the part no's I have now and see what they say.

Thank you's for all the help.
Hi Gen3charlie

I just spoke to Masterparts, they have TNT hubs for R 1012.00 ea. ex VAT. Part number is TH03011.

The SKF hubs are more expensive than the stealers at R2711 ex each.

Make sure they use the 3.2 DiD shape Gen3, they don't pick it up under the 3.5v6 engine for some reason.

Re: Wheel Bearings
Hi Nick

Thanx a million for that info, it has gone in to safe keeping so that I can order the end of next month. Will keep you informed of progress.

I have noticed that they battle to find anything for my car, seeing it being a year-2000 they tend to want to give me parts for the blister fender.

Thank You again.

Yeah me too, as I also have a 2000 model Gen3, problem is you got the blister fender (Gen 2.5) also in that year.

I normally say mine is either a 2000-2004 model or a 2001, not a 2000. Saves alot of frustration as the Gen3's are structurally just about identical, bar some plastic cosmetic changes. Even the Gen 4 is just a slight upgrade of the Gen3, maybe just a Gen3.5 even... They share alot of components, suspension, tranny's, diff's, super select transfer case and engines too... Image

Good luck

Re: Wheel Bearings
Just want to thank Mr Gibson for the info on the wheel bearings, I have sourced, and replaced them. The part No was as stated in the previous post and the price was the same too. Courier was +/- R200 and I recieved it in 2 days from ordering. Big up to Masterparts for quick and easy service.

Thank you again Mr Gibson.
Re: Wheel Bearings
Hi guys,

If anybody has a discarded front and a rear hub for the 2001-2004 Pajero and before you dump it in the dirt bin, I would like to collect them to see if my friend and I cannot find bearings/modify the hubs slightly to take a different size bearing(s) without any risk to safety or longevity of the bearing(s). I shall collect in the Gauteng area. If in another province, let me know and maybe I can drop in on my next outing.

Re: Wheel Bearings
Hi Cloyd

Did you ever manage to find a bearing / modify the hub to take a different bearing?

I've just been quoted R3615.68 for the right front hub from the stealers.

Re: Wheel Bearings
Fanus,

Sorry, bad news. I tried to "remove" the bearing caps from the hub but they are part of the hub casting and are machined into the hub.. The only way of fitting new bearings is to buy a new hub.

Re: Wheel Bearings
Thanks Cloyd,

I also had a look at it over the weekend, and came to the same conclusion.

Anyone used the Hubs from "master parts" in Cape Town? They quoted me +-R1200/hub.
